Pursuing a career in epidemiology fit Uyen Do’s interests, but it didn’t prepare her for the personal experience of becoming a breast cancer statistic. One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. For Uyen, that diagnosis came just after her 31st birthday.
