Course Description

What We Do

The School of Oncoplastic Surgery (SOS) provides an opportunity for surgeons to immerse themselves in knowledge alongside world-renowned pioneers in oncoplastic surgery.

The SOS focuses on the importance of the multi-disciplinary approach in the pre-op assessment and the practical elements of how to perform Oncoplastic procedures. Didactic lectures feature experts in breast surgery (oncology & aesthetic/reconstructive surgery), radiology, radiation oncology, pathology, and the psychosocial aspects of breast care. A coding specialist will also be part of the faculty and will be available for the duration of the course to answer questions.

What We Learn

The SOS is well known for it’s all-day cadaver lab which provides ample time for attendees to get hands-on teaching and experience with many different oncoplastic techniques.

Live models volunteer as “patients” to enhance the experience of learning in order for surgeons to learn the skin markings that are crucial to perfecting the art of oncoplastic surgery.

For the online school, at home training tools and interactive webinars help to bring the “hands-on” training via distance learning.

Where We Meet

In-Person:

The 3-day course format is designed as a “retreat” with faculty and participants situated with each other in one amphitheater, sharing meals together, networking, learning from one another and of course, socializing.

On-Line:

The SOS webinar series and online school are designed to continue fostering the learning experience for surgeons all over the world, no matter where they reside.
